SOCIAL FUTURESDISTRICT 3ABOUT KAT
Kat was raised by two immigrant parents from Mexico in California and Arizona before making her way to San Francisco in 2019. When she arrived, she discovered what genuine civic access and community could feel like, and it changed everything.
She is now a master's student in Applied Psychology, specializing in Latino Counseling and Health Psychology, with a deep commitment to holistic and somatic approaches to healing. A former President of Discord's Latino ERG and a community events volunteer with the Francisco Park Conservancy, Kat is passionate about revitalizing San Francisco's health and wellness community — and making it genuinely accessible. She is spiritual, people-first, and driven by a conviction that culture is built collectively: that all of us have a role in creating a city where belonging is real and businesses serve people, not the other way around.

The Future of commons
Wellness that Belongs to Everyone
This activation invites participants into a future where wellness is woven into the fabric of everyday life, not locked behind studio memberships or premium appointments. Participants gather for community yoga and a tea ceremony curated by a local practitioner, moving together through practices designed not as personal products but as shared rituals. By redesigning wellness as something that belongs to the neighborhood rather than the individual, this activation asks a simple but radical question: what if healing was just part of how we lived together?
